In my latest book…

In my latest book, More Than A Man Can Stand, Paul Redfern as a high schooler goes to work in an aircraft factory in New Jersey. The real Redfern did just that. I thought it was remarkable that both his parents who were employed by a college as a dean and lecturer would agree to his dropping out of high school to join the War effort. Also in the book, he meets Lilliana, a Polish girl working in the sewing room. Some people have told me the chapter about their romance is superfluous and should have been dropped. Others like it. I thought it fit in with the story because it was an instance where Redfern had to deal with a foreign language, like his experience with the indigenous tribe. What do you think?
